If you've got no idea what this is all about, go here. If you're up for the ride, let's read... 1 Surely God is good to Israel, 2 But as for me, my feet had almost slipped; 3 For I envied the arrogant 4 They have no struggles; 5 They are free from common human burdens; 6 Therefore pride is their necklace; 7 From their callous hearts comes iniquity [b]; 8 They scoff, and speak with malice; 9 Their mouths lay claim to heaven, 10 Therefore their people turn to them 11 They say, "How would God know? 12 This is what the wicked are like— 13 Surely in vain I have kept my heart pure 14 All day long I have been afflicted, 15 If I had spoken out like that, 16 When I tried to understand all this, 17 till I entered the sanctuary of God; 18 Surely you place them on slippery ground; 19 How suddenly are they destroyed, 20 They are like a dream when one awakes; 21 When my heart was grieved 22 I was senseless and ignorant; 23 Yet I am always with you; 24 You guide me with your counsel, 25 Whom have I in heaven but you? 26 My flesh and my heart may fail, 27 Those who are far from you will perish; 28 But as for me, it is good to be near God. 13 "Woe to him who builds his palace by unrighteousness, 14 He says, 'I will build myself a great palace 15 "Does it make you a king 16 He defended the cause of the poor and needy, 17 "But your eyes and your heart 18 Therefore this is what the LORD says about Jehoiakim son of Josiah king of Judah: 19 He will have the burial of a donkey— 20 "Go up to Lebanon and cry out, 21 I warned you when you felt secure, 22 The wind will drive all your shepherds away, 23 You who live in 'Lebanon, [a]' 12 Therefore, brothers and sisters, we have an obligation—but it is not to the sinful nature, to live according to it. 13 For if you live according to the sinful nature, you will die; but if by the Spirit you put to death the misdeeds of the body, you will live. 14 For those who are led by the Spirit of God are the children of God. 15 The Spirit you received does not make you slaves, so that you live in fear again; rather, the Spirit you received brought about your adoption to sonship. [a] And by him we cry, "Abba, [b] Father." 16 The Spirit himself testifies with our spirit that we are God's children. 17 Now if we are children, then we are heirs—heirs of God and co-heirs with Christ, if indeed we share in his sufferings in order that we may also share in his glory. 18 I consider that our present sufferings are not worth comparing with the glory that will be revealed in us. 19 The creation waits in eager expectation for the children of God to be revealed. 20 For the creation was subjected to frustration, not by its own choice, but by the will of the one who subjected it, in hope 21 that [c] the creation itself will be liberated from its bondage to decay and brought into the freedom and glory of the children of God. 22 We know that the whole creation has been groaning as in the pains of childbirth right up to the present time. 23 Not only so, but we ourselves, who have the firstfruits of the Spirit, groan inwardly as we wait eagerly for our adoption, the redemption of our bodies. 24 For in this hope we were saved. But hope that is seen is no hope at all. Who hopes for what they already have? 25 But if we hope for what we do not yet have, we wait for it patiently. 26 In the same way, the Spirit helps us in our weakness. We do not know what we ought to pray for, but the Spirit himself intercedes for us through wordless groans. 27 And he who searches our hearts knows the mind of the Spirit, because the Spirit intercedes for God's people in accordance with the will of God. 41 At this the Jews there began to grumble about him because he said, "I am the bread that came down from heaven." 42 They said, "Is this not Jesus, the son of Joseph, whose father and mother we know? How can he now say, 'I came down from heaven'?" 43 "Stop grumbling among yourselves," Jesus answered. 44 "No one can come to me unless the Father who sent me draws them, and I will raise them up at the last day. 45 It is written in the Prophets: 'They will all be taught by God.' [a] Everyone who has heard the Father and learned from him comes to me. 46 No one has seen the Father except the one who is from God; only he has seen the Father. 47 Very truly I tell you, whoever believes has eternal life. 48 I am the bread of life. 49 Your ancestors ate the manna in the wilderness, yet they died. 50 But here is the bread that comes down from heaven, which people may eat and not die. 51 I am the living bread that came down from heaven. Whoever eats of this bread will live forever. This bread is my flesh, which I will give for the life of the world."
LEAVING ADDICTION FOR HEALING...Psalm 73 TNIV
A psalm of Asaph.
to those who are pure in heart.
I had nearly lost my foothold.
when I saw the prosperity of the wicked.
their bodies are healthy and strong. [a]
they are not plagued by human ills.
they clothe themselves with violence.
the evil conceits of their minds know no limits.
with arrogance they threaten oppression.
and their tongues take possession of the earth.
and drink up waters in abundance. [c]
Does the Most High know anything?"
always free of care, they go on amassing wealth.
and have washed my hands in innocence.
and every morning brings new punishments.
I would have betrayed your children.
it troubled me deeply
then I understood their final destiny.
you cast them down to ruin.
completely swept away by terrors!
when you arise, Lord,
you will despise them as fantasies.
and my spirit embittered,
I was a brute beast before you.
you hold me by my right hand.
and afterward you will take me into glory.
And earth has nothing I desire besides you.
but God is the strength of my heart
and my portion forever.
you destroy all who are unfaithful to you.
I have made the Sovereign LORD my refuge;
I will tell of all your deeds.Jeremiah 22:13-23 TNIV

Did not your father have food and drink?
He did what was right and just,
so all went well with him.
and so all went well.
Is that not what it means to know me?"

'Alas, my brother! Alas, my sister!'
They will not mourn for him:

let your voice be heard in Bashan,
cry out from Abarim,
for all your allies are crushed.
but you said, 'I will not listen!'
This has been your way from your youth;
you have not obeyed me.
and your allies will go into exile.
Then you will be ashamed and disgraced
because of all your wickedness.

how you will groan when pangs come upon you,
pain like that of a woman in labor!Romans 8:12-27 TNIV
Present Suffering and Future Glory
John 6:41-51 TNIV
Somewhere in the noise is a song. Somewhere in the cacophony is a melody—a sweet sound. The ensemble is our attempt to discover the rhythms, the groanings and the eureka moments of life amongst the noise.
