Somewhere in the noise is a song. Somewhere in the cacophony is a melody—a sweet sound. The ensemble is our attempt to discover the rhythms, the groanings and the eureka moments of life amongst the noise.

look, if Claire is gonna mess with the formula then I want to take the next taxi to the airport and catch the next plane anywhere...

we're making a mockery of the fundamental premise of a "Top 5".

Simon Elliott said...

true - but there's been flagrant disregard for the notion since the get-go.

I'm happy to submit to boundaries though Brad. So long as people like Claire are prepared to toe the line as well.

Claire, you can have one of my extra spaces if you want... I’ve apparently had a complete adventure bypass, I can only find one thing on the list that motivates me at all.

62. Become someone’s nemesis.

There’s an Agatha Christie novel that has a fun scene where Miss Marple (fluffy-aged-knitted-pink) is found to be the nemesis of a Wicked And Foolish Young Man... One day...

i think karyn has afforded us an amicable resolution to this conundrum. on reflection i'm more concerned with the cumulative total of things one must do, rather than the discrete distribution of people's top 5.

Mikey B said...

Well if that's the case can I grab one of the spare spots and include 79) experience weightlessness???

When did we revert to a barter economy?

oooooooo im sorry okay!!! i guess ill just have to give up number 17. Teach someone to read. so you all better start feeling pretty bad that some poor person is going to have to live the rest of their life without knowing how to read just because it had to be a list of 5 instead of 6. but thats okay i will be driving my convertable to the awards night whilst kissing a movie star. oh and thankyou karen for your generous offer.. brad and simon- you both smell!

Simon Elliott said...

Don't worry Claire, I've already chosen to teach someone to read so I've got it covered for you. Turns out it was more important than kissing a movie star but, hey, we all have our priorities don't we...

He he

okay well you can bring your friend who you taught to read to the film festival in Cannes where i will be walking the red carpet with my movie star who i was earlier kissing in my convertable and dont worry, i'll make sure i wave.

Claire: you're heaps funny!

Don't listen to anyone else in that house where you're living.
